The Simons family have been involved in the food industry for three generations. They developed the Broad Oak range of products and established a very successful manufacturing base in Essex. From there they serviced a wide selection of customers from the Home Counties to the Midlands with award winning products. On the back of that success and the introduction of Christopher Simons as Managing Director it encouraged a desire to expand. It was always important to retain local sourcing and manufacturing within East Anglia and they were the key ingredients as the family looked for acquisitions. In 2010 an existing Suffolk based food production business was added to the family fold. It consisted of DP Meats (quality bacon and ham) and Country Cottage Cooked Meats (sausages), originally started in 1989 by the two principal owners who had many years’ experience in the industry.
