Benjamin Britten Academy of Music and Mathematics MITTEN MUST Senior Science Technician and Science Technician required DISCAMUS Job Title: Senior Science Technician & Science Technician SERVI Full Time/Part Time 40 Weeks/Year Term time + 2 Hours: Science Technician: Grade 2 Point 3 4 (£9.36 - £9.55 p/hour) Senior Science Technician: Grade 3 Point 4- 10 (£9.55 - £10.97 p/hour) We require a Senior Science Technician and a Science Technician to provide additional support in the Science Department. The role of the Technician is to: Maintain, manage and store both equipment and chemicals Prepare equipment for teaching staff Support teaching and learning Keep records and carry out clerical duties to support the Department The Senior Science Technician role will also include: Implementation and dissemination of all appropriate H & S legislation and guidance with respect to science education, including c.O.S.H.H. Developing new systems in the laboratories and prep rooms to improve the technical support service Maintaining a thorough stock control, order system and inventory management. Ensuring an up to date chemical database exists Operating laboratory documentation systems including organisation of work sheets, filing, hazard data and legal records.
